Briefmatic makes it easy to view all your tasks from all your apps, all in one place. But what happens when you have too many tasks or you have things to do that could be done better by someone else?

That's when you need to delegate tasks. Luckily it's super easy to delegate and track tasks using the Task Delegation feature in Briefmatic.

Follow these steps to create, delegate and track a task in Briefmatic.

Step 2 - Add Task

To add a new task to your todo list, click on the +Add Task in the bottom right corner. Once the task detail tab is open you can add the relevant information such as the title, description and due date.

Step 3 - Assign the Task

Once you have added the relevant information you are ready to assign the task to someone else. Click in the "Assigned To" field and enter a valid email address and click enter.

If the assignee is an existing Briefmatic user you'll see a green "Send" Button.

If they are not an existing Briefmatic user we will send them a notification email to ask them to sign into Briefmatic so they can view the task and collaborate with you.

If you have been assigned a task it will automatically appear in your To Do task list and you will also receive a short email to let you know a task has been allocated to you.

Step 4 - Track the Task

Once you have assigned the task, you'll notice that in the task list you can now see both the task creator, who the task is assigned to and its current status.

The assignee avatar will remain greyed out until they have accepted the email invite.

Step 5 - Complete or Reassign the Task

When you have finished a task that has been assigned to you, you can mark the task as Done to remove it from your todo list.

While not required, you can reassign it back to the task originator by following the task delegation process above or alternatively, just add a comment in the comments section of the task detail view to let the originator know the work has been completed.

You can also use this process to reassign a task to someone else. If you reassign a task, the task creator will see who the task is now assigned to and the task will be removed from your todo list.
